Linderhof Palace

Linderhof Palace

Maximilian II. hunting lodge was initially located where the palace stands today.
At the end of the 19th century, it was extended into a U-shaped building complex with the King´s Bedroom at its center.
It became the “Royal Villa” of Ludwig II. In 1874, the exterior façade, originally made of wood, was encased in a stone structure.
The old hunting lodge was taken down and rebuilt in the park.

The castle was later extended to include the Hall of Mirrors and the staircase. It was furnished in the “Second Rococo” style.
